For outdoors & indoors: Elephant Stool by Vitra
Designer Sori Yanagi created with the Elephant Stool one of the most famous designs of the Japanese post-war design. The stackable stool can be used indoors as well as outdoors.
Designer Sori Yanagi
Sori Yanagi worked in Charlotte Perriand's office from 1940 to 1942 after studying at the art school in Tokyo. He founded the Industrial Design Institute in 1952 and designed a large number of everyday objects and furniture. In his designs, he combined Western industrial design with the arts and crafts tradition of Japan, which made him one of the most important Japanese designers of the post-war period. In addition to furniture, he designed lamps, glass objects, cutlery, toys, cars and motorbikes.
Material and Format
The stool is made of solid-coloured polypropylene and is suitable for outdoor use. It is 51.5 cm wide, 46.5 cm deep and 37 cm high.
Note: Special additives slow down the fading of the colours due to UV radiation. If the chair is exposed to the sun for a longer period of time, the colour may still change. We recommend not to expose the chair to the sun for longer than necessary.
