Scandinavian sustainability: Earth bar stool by Mater
Creating a beautiful design from industrial waste? Danish architect Eva Harlou has clearly succeeded in this in collaboration with Mater!
Waste-to-Value
In the timelessly elegant Earth bar stool, the rounded seat with its natural look is enthroned on a filigree metal frame. Hard to believe, but this is made entirely from insulin sticks from Novo Nordisk and BKI coffee husk waste. Innovative waste-to-value technology makes it possible.
This was developed in cooperation with the Danish Technological Institute and with the support of the University of Copenhagen. In the process, the waste is mixed into a special mixture that is ideal for press moulding. This allows the used materials to be recycled in a more efficient way.
The Mater bar stool is 37 cm wide, 27 cm deep and can be ordered in the heights 69 cm and 74 cm. For the colour, you can choose between the light and dark version. For even more seating comfort, you can also find the Earth variant with backrest here in our shop.
