Environmentally conscious design for the future: the new RE collection
From January 2024, Vitra will focus on sustainability by producing all seat shells of the Eames Plastic Chairs from recycled post-consumer plastic . The seat shells will have minimal glass fibre reinforcement for stability and quality, with the glass fibre content of an Eames Plastic Chair RE seat shell being 10%.
By using recycled packaging waste, the seat shells are given minimal colour pigmentation.
