The designer: Ray and Charles Eames

At the right place at the right time: That Ray, an art studentn, and Charles, architect, got to know each other is a twist of fate for the design world. With their designs the later married couple has not only influenced the design of the post-war period but also laid the foundation for it. Two of the classics which are still very popular today are the Eames Plastic Chair or Eames Lounge Chair.

Marble

The Eames Coffee Table comes with a brushed and waxed table top made of classy Carrara marble. Carrara has its name from the Italian city in Massa-Carrara, within the heart of Tuscany. There white marble is quarried since the Roman period. Marble can be used in many ways and was the basis for wonderful sculptures. For the world famous tourist magent the Trevi-fountain in Rome Carrara-marble was used.
