Bauhaus: DMB 26 / DMB26 Ni Bauhaus ceiling lamp by Tecnolumen

The only woman who worked in the Bauhaus metal workshop, Marianne Brandt, developed this design. The Bauhaus ceiling lamp by Tecnolumen is characterised by a large opal-covered glass ball. The design dates from 1926.

Marianne Brandt came to the Bauhaus in Weimar as early as 1923, where she attended a preliminary course with Josef Albers and László Moholy-Nagy, as well as lessons with Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. From May 1928 to 1.7.1929 Brandt was the head of the metal workshop and had made a name for herself in the male-dominated sector.

Tecnolumen - Design History with a Future

Tecnolumen stands for luminaires with a timeless and strong design and has been doing so for 35 years. A special focus of the manufacturer is on originals from the Bauhaus period, in addition to contemporary luminaires, which can be found in the same design spectrum. The Bremen manufactory manufactures lamps and utility items that are particularly popular with collectors. Careful craftsmanship, high-quality materials and true-to-the-original production turn Tecnolumen's articles into selected design pieces.
