Made of good wood: the Ravn singing bird wooden figure by Kay Bojesen. With a height of 15.1 cm , the decorative bird makes quite an impression. 'Ravn' is the  Danishname for 'raven' and the birddesigned by Kay Bojesen in 1950 is in fact as pitch black as the animal original.

Material and format

Ravn by Kay Bojesen is made of black painted beech wood. The decorative bird is 15.1 cm high, 15.8 cm long and weighs 68 grams. What else is Ravn? Easy to clean! Simply use a soft, damp cloth to clean it.

Kay Bojesen

Kay Bojesen was born in Copenhagen in 1886. His father was the director of a publishing house, his mother an artist. After his apprenticeship as a silversmith, Bojesen worked and lived for a time in the French capital Paris. In 1932, he opened a workshop and small boutique with his wife. It was in 1930 that a wooden horse saw the light of day, followed by the droll dachshund Pind in 1934 and the famous monkey with its sweeping arms in 1951.

More birds

Kay Bojesen has designed numerous wooden birds, such as the Songbirds with their sometimes very colourful plumage. Kay comes in a beautiful blue colour, while Peter's fiery red head contrasts beautifully with his black plumage. As many songbirds are extremely sociable animals, the sparrows are also available in our shop in packs of two or seven .
