Mid-Century-Design
Created in 1953, the Ceramic Clocks are assigned to the mid-century design. During post-war American modernism, George Nelson designed various design products to bring modernity to private homes. A design from this period are the Ceramic Clocks, which you can order online here in three different versions.
Part of the collection are two organic clock designs, which look pleasantly harmonious due to their rounded design and are available in white or ice grey. The last clock in the bunch is a bright yellow Ceramic Clock with a star-shaped white dial. All three clocks share the fact that they are made entirely of ceramic except for the hands.
The best: All three table clocks can be combined excellently with each other or even as a single eye-catcher set into scene.
George Nelson for Vitra
Born in 1908, designer George Nelson has been working with Vitra since 1957, creating numerous design products.
It is not known why the Ceramic Clocks did not go into production at the time - fortunately Vitra is changing this in 2017 and is producing the designer clock according to the original design.
