The Professional version of the Demetra table lamp from Artemide offers more light with the same size compared to the classic version. Advanced LED technology ensures maximum performance in the minimalist design luminaire.
The design convinces with its simple and linear forms. In the head of the luminaire there is a reflector for the high-performance LEDs, since the luminaire is made of aluminium, the head serves as a passive heat sink for the luminaire element.
Designer Naoto Fukasawa
Naoto Fukasawa was born in Yamanashi in 1956. He studied design at Tama Art University. First he designed microelectronic devices and clocks. He moved to the USA at the end of the 80s and joined the international design and innovation consultancy IDEO. At that time, Fukasawa mainly designed computers and electronic devices for Silicon Valley, which was emerging at the time. Upon his return to Japan in 1996, he established the IDEO office in Tokyo until he founded his own studio in 2003.
His original design approach is internationally acclaimed. For him, a simple design symbolizes the harmonious relationship between user and object. With his designs, Fukasawa defines the boundaries of the relationship between objects and people. He has received many international awards, e.g. the title Honorable Royal Designer for Industry from the Royal Society of Arts in 2007.
Material and size
The luminaire is made of aluminium and technopolymer. It is 31 cm wide, 20 cm deep and 35 cm high. The base has a diameter of 20 cm. In total, the luminaire can be extended up to 102 cm.
