In keeping with its name, the Cuba Chair designed by Morten Gøttler conveys a light, almost Caribbean ambience at first glance. The simple design draws the eye to the high-quality materials, which interact harmoniously with each other and create a natural overall impression. Morten Gøttler's masterful understanding of design
Born in Copenhagen in 1944, Morten Gøttler originally worked in the shipping industry. It was only thanks to his aesthetic flair for wood that the self-taught designer ended up in the world of product design. in 1972, he founded his own studio and went on to design a wide variety of items - from household goods to children's toys - before specialising in the design of modern furniture. Clear, simple shapes in a refined context remain his trademark to this day. The Cuba Chair from 1997 is one of Morten Gøttler's best-known designs.
Material and format
The Cuba Paper Cord armchair by Carl Hansen & Søn is 76 cm high and 61 cm wide. The seat height is 39 cm. The frame is made of solid oak and is optionally available in an oiled or soaped version. The seat is made of robust paper weave.
