Shapely timekeeper: City Hall wall clock by Rosendahl Timepieces

The façade of the Rødovr City Hall is the original home of the shapely City Hall wall clock, which was designed by Arne Jacobsen. In three smaller scales, you can now hang the simple design clock in your home.

Designer Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen in 1902. Already as a child he showed a distinct talent for drawing. From this grew his desire to turn his talent into a profession and become a painter. His father, however, thought architect was a more suitable choice and so Jacobsen acquired the necessary know-how on his travels. An apprenticeship as a bricklayer in Germany and a series of study and drawing excursions to Italy formed the basis. If one wants to classify Arne Jacobsen, one can see him in the field of modern functionalism. His designs are influenced by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and the Bauhaus.

Material and Format

The clock is made of plastic and aluminium with a mineral cover glass. It is available in three different diameters: 16.5 cm, 21 cm or 29 cm.
