Reminds of early, carefree childhood days on the back of a carousel horse - the spice containers by Alessi are part of the circus collection and are in their appearance similar to a horse carousel from the fair or the circus. The affectionately arranged design upgrades every kitchen immediately and creates directly good mood while cooking and seasoning.
Designer Marcel Wanders
Raised in Boxtel in the Netherlands, designer Marcel Wanders successfully completed his studies at the Arnhem School of Art in 1988. He became best known for the cult Knotted Chair, which he designed for Droog Design in 1996. Today he works with the largest European manufacturers of modern design, including B&B Italia, Bisazza, Poliform, Moroso, Flos, Boffi, Cappellini, Droog Design and Moooi. Wanders also works on architectural and interior design projects. For example, he designed the interior of Blits, a new restaurant in Rotterdam, or the interior of the Thor restaurant in New York. He also teaches at various faculties, such as SFMoMA, the Design Academy or during the FutureDesignDays.
Material and size
The containers are made of glass with an imprint and a lid made of tinplate. They are 12 cm high and have a diameter of 5.3 cm.
