Elegant: CH26 chair by Carl Hansen
Exceptional craftsmanship meets classical elegance - may we introduce? The CH26 dining chair. As early as 1950, designer Hans J. Wegner designed the CH26 exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn.
But the chair did not come to life until 2016 when, in close collaboration with the Hans J. Wegner design studio, production began on the basis of Wegner's original working drawings. The chair is part of a collection of iconic chairs designed by Wegner for the Danish manufacturer.
The CH26 dining chair resembles the lounge version because of its organic forms and refined back. The hand-woven seat and the proportions of the design chair are made for longer sitting at the dining table or desk.
Designer Hans J. Wegner
As one of the most creative, innovative and productive Danish designers, Wegner is often referred to as the master of chairs. During his lifetime he designed more than 500 chairs, among them many masterpieces. The legendary Wishbone Chair is one of his best-known designs and has been in continuous production since 1950. Wegner's focus as a designer was to bring out the soul of the furniture through its simplicity and functionality.
Material and size
The classic is available in different versions. You can choose between soaped, oiled or black oak with a natural wicker seat or black oak with a black wicker seat.
The chair is 59.2 cm wide, 51.9 cm deep and 79.8 cm high. The seat height is 44.5 cm and the armrests are 67.5 cm high.
