Nordic modern: The CH24 Wishbone Chair by Carl Hansen & Søn in the Ilse Crawford colours
When developing the CH24, designer Hans J. Wegner conceived the backrest and armrest in one piece. The characteristic Y-shaped backrest provides stability and is the eponym of the Wishbone Chair. More than 100 work steps are required for the production of the classic, most of which are carried out by hand. For the production of the hand-woven seat alone, an experienced craftsman needs about an hour to create a seat with impressive durability and stability from approx. 120 m of paper cord.
New interpretation by internationally renowned designer Ilse Crawford
With a timeless and modern colour palette, Crawford reinterprets Hans J. Wegner's classics and brings them into the 21st century in a new splendour. Century. The nine complex colours, inspired by the Danish artist Per Kirkeby, allude to the rugged beauty of the Nordic landscape and have been carefully composed by Crawford.

The Wishbone Chair is 76 cm high, 55 cm wide and 51 cm deep. The seat height is 45 cm.

Through the slightly transparent surface of the individual colours, the grain of the beech wood used shines through, creating a beautiful texture. The colours used are water-based and non-toxic.
The seats are finished with hand-woven paper cords using a special process.
- NOTE: Due to the high quality, handmade weave, one of the chair legs may appear shorter as the weave is very tightly bound. This will self-adjust after about one month of normal sitting when the weave loosens. -
