Sensual craftsmanship: Céramique Down table lamp from Flos
Céramique is the latest lighting collection by designer Ronan Bouroullec for the Italian manufacturer Flos. Bouroullec has many years of experience with ceramics and his collection honours the expressiveness of the material as well as the traditional craftsmanship that goes hand in hand with its production .
"I love ceramics [...]. Ceramics is about desire, about sensuality. I think my work is moving more and more in this direction ; producing objects that are functional but also exude a kind of elegance and pleasure. Flos is closely linked to the extraordinary panorama of Italian craftsmanship, which is unique in Europe. Italian ceramics had to be explored, a first for the company. Notes: A special tool is hidden in the base of Céramique. It is provided to enable the light source to be replaced.
The retrofit LED bulb of the lamp can be easily upgraded over time to improve the energy efficiency of the product when new sources become available on the market.
