A classic coffeehouse chair with that extra bit of comfort: that's the Body chair designed by Nigel Coates in 2015 for Wiener GTV Design.
Tradition bentwood
The Italian counterpart of the manufacturer Thonet, Wiener GTV Design, known as Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, also cultivates the bentwood tradition.
The body chair - like the frames of many other designer chairs by the Thonet brothers - is made of round beech wood bent under steam. The seat and backrest are covered with the so-called Viennese we ave, a rattan fabric.
As far as environmental compatibility is concerned, you can rest assured, because Wiener GTV Design only uses wood from forests that are managed in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
There are even plans to award the ECOLABEL eco-label, as the environmental impact is kept low throughout the entire product life cycle.
Seating comfort at its best
Although the designer chair by the Thonet brothers does not have a seat cushion, it is extremely comfortable. This is due on the one hand to the generous dimensions and on the other to the ergonomically shaped backrest.
The design of the chair is dynamic and traditional at the same time due to the curved reinforcement of the chair legs.
