The Bouroullec brothers ' trademark ? Geometric shapes and repetitions! The two also show this in the design of the Blur carpet by Nanimarquina.
When you look at the carpet from a distance, it shows an indeterminate, blurred surface - hence the name of the collection. When you approach the carpet, however, you recognise lines and rhythmic diamonds in different proportions. This effect was achieved by reversing traditionally woven kilims . This creates blurred lines and the irregular mixture of colours.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
The Bouroullec design duo consists of the brothers Ronan and Erwan, who were born in Quimper in France. Since 1999, the two have been running their design studio in the Belleville Quarter in Paris as equal partners. From small objects of daily use to large architectural projects - their field of activity is extremely versatile.
