A simple frame and subtle details characterise the Base Table by Muuto. The design of the table is based on the Scandinavian design language and also its materiality results from its Scandinavian heritage. Kept so simple, the table can be used almost everywhere.
Designer Mika Tolvanen
The renowned Finnish designer Mika Tolvanen graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 and opened his own studio directly afterwards. Since then, he designs products for living and object areas and produces prototypes himself in his workshop on the island Lauttasaari outside of Helsinki, Finland.
Material and size
The table consists of a frame made of extruded aluminium, which is treated with a particularly durable acrylic paint. The tabletop is a laminate surface or plywood with a linoleum surface, depending on the finish. The dimension of the table is selectable.
