Cult design from 1956: Richard Lampert bar trolley.
The classic 1950s castors and the original ribbed glass reveal its age, but otherwise this bar trolley made of powder-coated black steel angles is so unbelievably contemporary that you might not believe it was designed back in 1956. And it was designed by one of the most important German architects and designers, Herbert Hirche. He would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2010, reason enough for Richard Lampert to reissue the Hirche bar trolley. Now this timelessly beautiful piece of furniture once again enriches the homes of design fans and Bauhaus lovers. Get a piece of history and a first-class bar trolley in your living or dining room. And if you don't like alcohol, use it as a rolling side table for your tea, decorate it with a plant, Hirche is an absolute asset to any ambience.
Important designer of the 60s: Herbert Hirche
If you look at the design works of Herbert Hirche, you might hardly believe that some of these modern pieces of furniture were already designed many decades ago. The bar trolley, for example, dates from 1956! After an apprenticeship as a carpenter at the Bauhaus in Dessau and Berlin, where Hirche studied under Mies van der Rohe and Wassily Kandinsky from 1930 to 1933, Hirche worked as a freelance architect and designer. Hirche is one of the most important architects and designers of the 1950s and 1960s. With the new edition of these classics, Richard Lampert contributes to the immortality of designers like Herbert Hirche. On the occasion of Herbert Hirche's 100th birthday in 2010, some pieces of furniture, including the bar trolley, were given a new lease of life.
Richard Lampert: Design made in Germany
In 1993, Richard Lampert founded his company in Stuttgart with the aim of industrially producing furniture and everyday objects that combine quality craftsmanship, design standards and sustainability. Richard Lampert's collections cover a wide range of areas, from outdoor furniture to living space and office furniture. Well-known designers such as Egon Eiermann and Herbert Hirche stand alongside unconventional and lesser-known international designers.
Material and format
The cult Hirche bar trolley in a new edition by Richard Lampert consists of powder-coated steel angles in RAL 9005 and 4-mm-thick slide-in glass plates made of the typical ribbed glass as well as the classic, delicate 50s castors.
