Mariana Pellegrino Soto
Born in Caracas, designer Mariana Pellegrino Soto moved to Italy at the age of 18 to study for a degree in product design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. During the three-year programme, she took part in the Erasmus project and studied for a semester at the institute's campus in Barcelona. She participated in a university competition for the design of a glass water bottle "Acqua Santa Maria" (for the Şayaçhi Group of Companies) and won the Best Packaging Award at the Global Bottled Water Awards 2016.
During her final year in the programme, her thesis project was selected by Oluce, where Mariana was able to work with the company to complete her project to the final design of the product. She currently works as a design developer for F&N Compositi.
Oluce - luminaire design made in Italy
Oluce was founded in 1945 by Giuseppe Ostuni and is the oldest Italian design company still active in the lighting world. The product portfolio is characterised by excellence and innovation. Passionate aesthetic as well as technological approaches about the potential of light are translated into concrete form. Over the years, Oluce has managed to build a collection, rich and varied, populated by products that transcend fashion and become icons of Italian design.
