True light sculpture - the unusually shaped Akari 24N provides warm and pleasant light. It creates the right ambience and cosy atmosphere in any room.
Bright light - Akari luminaire range
The term Akari comes from the Japanese and means light and brightness. It is not surprising that the artist of the Akari series chose this name for his collection. The luminaires create a particularly warm and cosy light.
The 24N is one of 100 models produced, all of which are elaborately handcrafted in the Ozeki factory in Gifu, a traditional family business. First bamboo rods are stretched over the original wooden form of Noguchi. They form the ribs on which the Washi paper is then wound. After drying, the wooden mould is removed and the umbrella can be folded, packed and shipped.
Material and format
The lamp consists of a shade of Washi paper and a structure of bamboo and steel wire. It measures 83 cm in diameter and 117 cm in height.
