Description
Efficient and modern: Here you can order the floor lamp AJ, designed by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen, online.
Modern classic
Designed in 1957, the floor lamp AJ has now become a modern lighting classic. The original design was for the hotel SAS Royal in Copenhagen. However, Arne Jacobsen designed much more than the floor lamp AJ, but the whole building including the interior design. This is how one of the first design hotels in the world was created.
The floor lamp AJ was a welcome addition, which fits perfectly into the interior with its minimalist and airy-light design.
Material and functionality
Thanks to the perfectly designed lampshade, the floor lamp ensures absolutely glare-free light. This predestines the designer lamp to the perfect reading light or chic mood light. Practical: The asymmetrically designed lampshade is swiveling. This allows the luminous flux to be perfectly aligned. The inside of the shade is painted white.
While the lampshade and the poles are made of powder-coated steel, the luminaire base uses stable zinc die-casting. Thus, the designer lamp AJ has a secure footing. The circular recess in the lamp base contributes to the airy design - according to legend, Arne Jacobsen had planned an insert for an ashtray.
The choice is yours: The floor lamp AJ by Louis Poulsen can be ordered here in our online shop in various classic and contemporary colors.
