Slim line: About A Chair AAC 18 from Hay

The slim, elegant silhouette of the AAC 18 by Hay and its fine armrests make it appear somewhat more formal than the other members of the About A Chair series by designer Hee Welling. However, the upright and slightly rounded seat clearly characterises it as part of the collection. The refined lines and the contrast between the shell and the slim frame make it a perfect conference chair - but the chair is also a great choice at home or in cafés.

The polypropylene seat shell and frame are available in different versions.

About A Chair Collection

Deliberate and simple - the chairs from the About A Chair Collection by Hay follow simple and sleek lines so that they can be easily combined with other furnishings. They complement a wide variety of styles perfectly and are therefore also ideal for use in the contract sector. Designer Hee Welling conceived the series with the aim of making the chairs suitable for use in restaurants, canteens, in the office or at the dining table at home. Their simple appearance makes them particularly multifunctional and combinable.

The collection includes AACs in different variations - wooden and metal frames and non-upholstered and upholstered seat shells. Each individual variant is characterised by an understated elegance that discreetly enhances any room.

Designer Hee Welling

Danish designer Hee Welling attended the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and graduated with a master's degree in furniture design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. he founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003 and has been designing furniture, interiors, lighting and industrial designs ever since. Welling has received various awards, including the BoBedre Design Award (Denmark) and the Good Design Award (USA). His designs have been used in international institutions such as the Oslo Opera House, the Australian Parliament and the Amazon headquarters.

As the son of a carpenter, he has a great fascination for production techniques and materials. It is therefore not surprising that his credo is to develop technically sophisticated products that are nevertheless accessible to the masses.

Material and format

The frame of the AAC 18 is made of powder-coated steel or stainless steel. The seat is made of polypropylene. It is 60 cm wide, 50 cm deep and 78 cm high.
