On castors: About A Chair AAC 14 from Hay

As part of the About A Chair series from Hay, the AAC 14 is equipped with the unmistakable seat shell. This is complemented by an elegant four-star base made of aluminium, which is equipped with functional castors and looks great in formal working environments as well as in your own office at home.

The polypropylene seat shell and frame are available in different versions.

About A Chair Collection

Deliberate and simple - the chairs from the About A Chair Collection by Hay follow simple and sleek lines so that they can be easily combined with other furnishings. They complement a wide variety of styles perfectly and are therefore also ideal for use in the contract sector. Designer Hee Welling conceived the series with the aim of making the chairs suitable for use in restaurants, canteens, in the office or at the dining table at home. Their simple appearance makes them particularly multifunctional and combinable.

The collection includes AACs in different variations - wooden and metal frames and non-upholstered and upholstered seat shells. Each individual variant is characterised by an understated elegance that discreetly enhances any room.

Designer Hee Welling

Danish designer Hee Welling attended the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and graduated with a master's degree in furniture design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. he founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003 and has been designing furniture, interiors, lighting and industrial designs ever since. Welling has received various awards, including the BoBedre Design Award (Denmark) and the Good Design Award (USA). His designs have been used in international institutions such as the Oslo Opera House, the Australian Parliament and the Amazon headquarters.

As the son of a carpenter, he has a great fascination for production techniques and materials. It is therefore not surprising that his credo is to develop technically sophisticated products that are nevertheless accessible to the masses.

Material and format

The frame of the AAC 14 is made of powder-coated aluminium and has castors. The seat shell is made of polypropylene. The chair is 51 cm wide, 52 cm deep and 77 cm high.
