The well-known Kaiser idell lights from Fritz Hansen are genuine Bauhaus classics! The series by designer Christian Dell is based on the worldwide patented pivot bearing connection and the well-known and characteristic socket dome with the "ORIGINAL KAISER idell" embossing. Designer Christian Dell
Christian Dell was born in Offenbach am Main. He completed an apprenticeship as a silversmith in Hanau from 1907 to 1911 and also attended the drawing academy there. From 1922 to 1925, he worked as a foreman in the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar. in 1926, he then took over the management of the metal workshop at the Frankfurt Art School. His design style is considered extremely innovative for the time and was trend-setting for the development of design.
