The high-quality design bench 153A in large and 153B in small by Artek captivates with its natural simplicity and suits many furnishing styles.
The Finnish designer Alvar Aalto was inspired by the slat structure of classic benches for this bench. The rounded legs in the famous L-shape invented by Aalto, with which the Finn revolutionised furniture design, ensure a harmonious overall appearance. Suddenly, the table legs could be effortlessly attached directly to the tabletop, giving the table maximum stability. Aalto also applied the system to the 153A bench, and the designer jewel is correspondingly stable. You have the choice between a clear lacquer finish, which shows off the beautiful birch wood dimensions - or opaque lacquer in black or white.
Artek - always modern
Artek was founded in Helsinki in 1935 by four young idealists: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hahl. With their designs, they wanted to promote a modern culture of living. Material and Format
The Design Bench by Artek is made of solid birch wood. It is available natural or lacquered in the colours black or white. In the small size 153A, the bench is 112.5 cm wide, 40 cm deep and 44 cm high. In the 153B version, the bench is 72.5 cm wide, 40 cm deep and 44 cm high.
