Classic Tray Large tray from Vitra
Bright colours and geometric patterns - Vitra's Classic Trays were created between 1947 and 1974. The designs were created by Alexander Girard and the Eames couple. They feature well-known motifs from the legendary designers' collection.
Alexander Girard
Alexander Girard is known as a formative figure in post-war American design. The American was born in 1907. Girard originally studied architecture, but over the course of his career he worked as a furniture, graphic, exhibition and interior designer. Textile design was a focal point of his work. Abstract, geometric shapes and a variety of colour constellations are examples of his work.
Charles and Ray Eames
The Eames couple are among the most important personalities in the field of design in the 20th century. In addition to designing furniture, they also made films, took photographs and put together exhibitions. Vitra is the only authorised manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and format
The trays are made of laminated plywood. The Large version is 46 cm wide, 36 cm deep and 2 cm high.
