Japanese autumn: Aki Umbrella Stand by B-Line
An object that differs from the usual umbrella stand: Aki (the Japanese word for autumn) by Rodolfo Bonetto. An umbrella stand also becomes an attractive object for everyday life, thanks to its opaque colors and geometric shape. The design dates back to 1975.
Material and format
B-Line Aki is made of polyethylene pressed in the so-called rotomoulding process. Three colors are available: white, pastel green and light grey. There is always an armada of umbrellas in your entrance area or waiting room? Then it is best to order several umbrella stands, preferably in all four colors. Aki from B-Line is 48 cm wide, 36 cm high and 18.6 cm deep.
The design
Rodolfo Bonetto (1929-1991) was an Italian designer. He did not learn the craft of design, Bonetto acquired his knowledge as an autodidact. But this did not detract from his abilities. He was awarded the Compasso d'Oro six times and also worked as a lecturer at a university for several years. Bonetto has designed almost everything that came under his fingers: from car interiors to alarm clocks.
