Beautifully shaped: AJ52 Society work table from Carl Hansen & Son
A table as versatile as its designer. Arne Jacobsen created the AJ52 using new techniques and materials to create a timeless and long-lasting design that the user can enjoy at any time. The desk lamp and the letter box made of wood and veneer with a glass front offer an extension to the beautifully designed table. The solid wood legs and the slim frame, in combination with the unit with six drawers, also made of wood and veneer, and suspended from narrow metal tubes, form unique features of the table.
About the designer
Arne Jacobsen was born and raised in Copenhagen. He studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. The AJ lamp was originally designed in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and is one of Arne Jacobsen's most important design icons. Originally, the product family comprised a floor lamp, a wall lamp, a table lamp and a smaller table lamp as well as a table lamp that was intended to be attached to a table. The AJ Mini table lamp has an iconic, graphic expression that fits in beautifully with Jacobsen's design style and contrasts with the curves of some of the furniture in the SAS Royal Hotel.
Material and format
The AJ52 Society desk is available in two sizes and with or without a desk lamp. You can choose between drawers made of oiled solid oak or walnut wood.
