The swivelling AAL 91 from the About A Lounge Chair has the same compact body as the other designs in the series, but a lightweight metal frame. It also has a comfortable appearance and a large selection of upholstery options. This means it can work well in both private and public spaces.
About A Lounge Collection
Pure minimalism - the armchairs from the About A Lounge Collection by Hay follow simple and sleek lines so that they can be easily combined with other furnishings. They complement a wide variety of styles perfectly and are therefore also ideal for use in the contract sector. Designer Hee Welling conceived the series with the aim of making the armchairs suitable for use in cafés, offices or at home. Their simple appearance makes them particularly multifunctional and combinable.
Designer Hee Welling
Danish designer Hee Welling attended the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and graduated with a master's degree in furniture design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. he founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003 and has been designing furniture, interiors, lighting and industrial designs ever since. Welling has received various awards, including the BoBedre Design Award (Denmark) and the Good Design Award (USA). His designs have been used in international institutions such as the Oslo Opera House, the Australian Parliament and the Amazon headquarters.
As the son of a carpenter, he has a great fascination for production techniques and materials. It is therefore not surprising that his credo is to develop technically sophisticated products that are nevertheless accessible to the masses.
Material and format
The AAL 91 consists of a metal base and an upholstered seat in different versions. It is 84 cm wide, 82 cm deep and 101 cm high. The seat height is 36 cm.
